
About the Program
The Level3 International Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, Defibrillation and CPR isa qualification aimed at providing learners with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support emergency first aid in the workplace as well as perform CPR along with the safe usage of an AED. The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and how to assess and incident.
General Information about the course
This qualification has been developed for those who wish to become an Emergency First Aider and use a defibrillator. Learners gaining this qualification will know basic emergency first-aid procedures and will be able to use a defibrillator correctly. The topics covered will help to maintain good practice in safe, prompt and effective emergency first-aid treatment of individuals.
Course Objectives:
· Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
· Know basic emergency first aid requirements
· Be able to demonstrate basic emergency first aid techniques in line with current guidelines
· Be able to manage a casualty who is not breathing normally and unresponsive
· Be able to perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation
· Be able to safely use an AED
· Know how to recognize and assist a casualty who is chocking
· Know how to recognize and assist a casualty with minor injury
· Know how to manage a casualty who is in shock
