About the Program

This qualification is designed for managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens, and staff in workplaces with potential fire risks. It provides learners with knowledge offire hazards, risk control, and safety management, ensuring they understand the responsibilities and consequences associated with fire in any workplace.

Course Coverage

This 1-day (7hours) program covers:

  • Causes and characteristics of workplace fires, including the fire triangle and products of combustion
  • Fire hazards and risks, including smoke spread
  • Methods to identify and control fire risks
  • Means of escape and components of emergency routes
  • Fire detection, raising the alarm, and safe use of portable fire-fighting equipment
  • Overview of fixed fire-fighting systems and their applications
  • Fire safety management duties of employers and employees
  • Conducting simple fire safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Roles and responsibilities of fire wardens, including day-to-day duties, emergencies, and fire safety     briefings

The qualification is assessed through a multiple-choice examination and isinternationally recognised.
