About the Course

Based on the NFPA Fire Protection Handbook (21st Edition) and other key NFPA standards, this course builds expertise in fire protection system design, risk assessment, emergency planning, and code compliance. Ideal for those in engineering, safety management, or risk roles, the training combines theoretical knowledge with real-world applications to prepare participants for the CFPS exam and professional practice.
Course Syllabus
• Fire Protection Fundamentals: Fire science, behaviour, and prevention principles
• Fire Protection Systems: Active and passive systems: sprinklers, alarms, suppression, barriers
• Code Compliance: Application of NFPA 1, 13, 25, 72, 101, and relevant standards from the Fire Protection Handbook
• Fire Risk Analysis: Hazard assessments and risk-based protection strategies
• Emergency Planning: Action plans, fire drills, and protocol evaluation
• System Maintenance: ITM procedures to ensure system reliability and compliance
