About the Program
This qualification introduces essential health and safety principles for new or existing employees. Learners will understand responsibilities, recognise hazards, and apply practical control measures to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
Course Coverage
- Roles and responsibilities of employers and employees, including duty of care and use of PPE
- Key terms: hazard, risk, control measure, risk assessment
- Common workplace hazards and controls: slips, trips and falls; working at heights; manual handling; machinery and vehicles; hazardous substances; electricity; fire; stress
- Maintaining tidy, organised workplaces and suitable environmental conditions (light, temperature, ventilation, space, noise)
- Health and safety signage, colour coding and Personal hygiene practices
- Reporting accidents, ill health, near misses, and dangerous events
- Fire safety procedures, including alarms, assembly points, and extinguisher use
- First-aid provision and designated first aiders & correct use and reporting of PPE
The qualification is assessed through a multiple-choice examination and is internationally recognised.
