About the Program
This qualification is specifically for designated fire wardens, equipping them with the knowledge to support fire safety management and ensure safe evacuation inthe event of a fire. Learners will understand hazards, risk control, and the responsibilities of a fire warden in the workplace.
Course Coverage
This1-day (8 hours) program covers:
- Fire hazards and risks in the workplace, including causes, the fire triangle, smoke, and fire spread
- Fire risk assessment steps and methods to reduce fire likelihood
- Elements of means of escape, fire detection, raising alarms, and types of fire-fighting equipment (portable and fixed)
- Duties of employers, employees, and fire wardens regarding fire safety
- Fire warden roles and priorities during emergencies, including designated and non-designated areas
- Conducting fire safety briefings, reporting incidents, and maintaining fire safety records
- Factors affecting evacuation effectiveness: physical (building design, stairs, exits) and people-related (age, disabilities)
The qualification is assessed via a multiple-choice examination through Highfield’s e-assessment platform, with instant results.
