About the Program
This qualification is designed for supervisors, managers, and team leaders, orthose preparing to work at this level. It equips learners with knowledge of health and safety management, risk assessment, and accident investigation to maintain safe workplaces and prevent harm.

Course Coverage
This 3-day (24 hours) program covers:
• Requirements for health, safety, and welfare, including workplace standards, safe access/egress, equipment, and welfare facilities
• Communication of health and safety information via signs, toolbox talks, briefings, newsletters, and training
• Key terminology: incident, accident, near miss, occupational ill health
• Benefits of using a safety management system, including cost reduction, legal compliance, and a positive safety culture
• Principles of risk assessment, types of risk assessment, and 5-step process to control hazards
• Identification and control of common workplace hazards: slips, trips, falls, manual handling, machinery, fire, electricity, hazardous substances, noise, stress, violence, vehicles, and ergonomic factors
• Application of the hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, engineering, administration, and PPE
• Accident and incident management, including reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and remedial action
